It appears that 2024 is shaping up to be a banner year for Ajay Devgn, with a series of films lined up. Following Shaitaan, his most recent film, Maidaan, is performing admirably at the box office. The film is maintaining a steady pace, garnering positive reviews from both critics and viewers. As per a Sacnilk report, Maidaan raked in approximately Rs 5 crore in India on its third day, bringing its total earnings to Rs 15.6 crore.

According to Sacnilk.com, the sports biopic managed to earn just Rs 2.75 crore on Friday, pushing the total collections to Rs 9.85 crore after two days of its theatrical run. On April 13, Maidaan had an overall Hindi occupancy of 19.65%.

Maidaan’s Day 3 Hindi Theater Occupancy: Morning Shows: 9.12% Afternoon Shows: 19.29% Evening Shows: 21.02% Night Shows: 29.18%

The sports drama is a tribute to the golden age of Indian football and is helmed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma, the director of Badhaai Ho. South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh stars alongside Ajay Devgn in the film. The cast also includes Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and renowned Bengali actor Rudra Neeta Ghosh. The film was produced by Boney Kapoor, father of Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor.

In her review for India TV, Sakshi Verma wrote, “Maidaan, which features Ajay Devgn in almost every scene, is heavily centered around him. The actor shoulders the film with his sheer spirit, outstanding performance, and ‘those eyes chico’. There are moments when you might feel a tear welling up for him, and in the next instant, you’ll be awestruck by his stunning portrayal of Sayed Abdul Rahim. What else can one expect from a three-time National Award-winning actor?

“India has been known for cricket and hockey since the early days, but there was a time when Indian football was referred to as the ‘Brazil of Asia’. This was made possible solely due to Syed Abdul Rahim and his team. Maidaan is a film about a man’s relentless spirit and his defiance of death.
